2002 Ladera Cabernet Sauvignon Lone Canyon Vineyard

Super dark with the prettiest crimson edges. The nose has a sweet cherry note with some cola. The palate is plush with very beautiful black currant, crème de cassis, kirsch royal and black cherries. There is a plum and pomegranate quality I really appreciate. Some tobacco leaf and some exotic tea. A very nicely balanced mid palate with some sweetness evident. The Coca Cola notes return with some earthiness and elegance. Tannins are finely weaved and are really clean and pure. There is some acidity noticable PLUS a bit of oak. A 'fat' wine and a very 2002ish wine indeed. This is a very 'easy' to drink cabernet for sure. The finish is admirable and really rounds this one out nicely. A 'almost' classically made cabernet that screams a good way. (91 pts.)
